Monal - XMPP Chat App Reviews

While I can in theory add everyones name by hand, this is daunting with several hundred users that I have to be able to contact. A great looking app, but this is a show-stopper. All of our rosters on our openfire servers are auto-generated and divided by department, if Monal would do a simple roster pull it would be about the perfect app for IM on the road. I use Adium all day every day on my Mac, someone told me I should look into Monal for my iPad. I have, and I wont be back unless it starts working as well as Adium does.

Im very happy with Monal. It is a clear, straightforward instant messaging app using the Jabber (XMPP) protocol. Very simple to use and it is very responsive and reliable. The only thing keeping me from giving it five stars is that it does not have in-app account registration. Aside from this, it is the best XMPP messenger available for iOS. Highly recommended!

One star off for sometimes losing the connection

I used to love this app. Havent used it in a while and now I cant see any contacts when I log into my Gchat account on my iPad. Please fix!

This app fails to reconnect or keep a connection alive with a group jabber chat, so its off to the next xmpp client with me

This app constantly signs me out for no apparent reason. To top it off it doesnt seem like the developer cares about fixing the bugs. Since there hasnt been an update in over a year.

Cant log in to gchat account, keep getting random error messages, and help tab only features help topics for users who are actually able to log in.

We also have openfire and this works great better than most of the apps on the store already Would defiently recommend

Easy setup. User name, password and server. Connected immediately. Alerts from the background.

Pressing join on group chat does absolutely nothing. iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4

Monal is very simple & useful iM App -I found while looking for a GTalk app for iOS that wasnt intrusive, cluttered (like most others), and that didnt have ads. I like it so much that if it were made a paid-app, I would gladly support it. -New interface from the updt. looks great, cant wait to test-it-out!

Yesterday was working ... New update and I cant connect ... What is going on???

Jabber will not connect following the latest update. Please revert or fix!

Just upgraded to 2.1.2 and the connections that didnt work and now working again. Hurray great App keep the good work.

Version 2.0 of this app was working fine for my xmpp accounts but the 2.1 update broke this and all of my accounts failed to log in. This new version fixes this.

Third upgrade not the charm. Still cant use the connection that was working for me on 2.0.

Cant connect to google, my server, and other peoples servers that work with other apps

Working like a charm, love it, thanks to the developer for all his hard work. As right now I wouldnt mind paying for it. Awesome.
