Comes up with a missing username error to be entered into the iPhone settings. That message is not explicit enough to get the app set up as where *exactly* do you want my username entered? And why not entered directly into the app as it is app specific... Sorry guys , Im off to look for another app that is more user friendly.

Simply does its job. Has push notifications and works in background.

Monal is functional, with clear interface, multi-task, multi-accounts and a good respect of privacy. The only thing is that it dont seems to support mobiles protocols and it dont have extra functionalities like OTR.

I needed a simple GTalk messenger and I found it. This app is really small, cute and simple. However, I still miss a few features: - if I disable the vibrate option, it is activated at the next start again. Why? I dont see any reason not to store this option. - the horizontal text input is missing here - why do I see my own account in my contact list? I dont need a messenger to talk with voices in my head ;-). But at least it is usable and cute. Thanks for this great app!

Great Update, its getting better! Where can I donate? :-) Only had one crash yet on iPad wit 4.2b2 and the background feature is nice :)

Monal is a great IM. Works flawless and allows me to keep my password to myself. Keep on the good work!

there is no bookmarking for MUC and no auto-reconnect. the UI is not beautiful, but functional.

Monal would be the ideal IM client if it were not for its instability. Prepare for constant crashes, for example when switching into landscape mode.

Actually its not bad, except that it looses the connection to ejabberd again and again. Without automatic reconnect this is extremely painful.

Contacts list not visible, the authors do not seem to respond to bug reports

when using groupchat, the app cant send a message to group and return an error. Please fix that. It would be a nice App. The only usable for iPhone.
